1987 State Championship Football Team

Idaho Class A-2 State Champions • Undefeated Season

The 1987 Weiser High School football team won the Idaho High School Activities Association Class A-2 State Championship, finishing the season with a perfect undefeated record. Led by head coach John Srholec, this historic run remains one of the most celebrated seasons in Weiser football history.

As dominant as the 1987 team was during the regular season, so it was during the playoffs.

On November 14, 1987, Weiser met American Falls in the championship game at the Minidome on the campus of Idaho State University in Pocatello, defeating the Beavers 41-7 in front of more than 4,000 fans. The 1987 title was the first of three state football championships in school history, followed later by titles in 1997 and 2021.
